Great service and excellent fondue. Make sure to go early and make a reservation! It looked wide open when I reserved my table but when we arrived, they had to seat people at the bar without reservations.
Great place for fondue! If you like cheese or chocolate fondue this is really good. They weren't doing meat fondue when I went there and I don't know if they offer it. But the cheese fondue is worth the visit.
My friend came here before and recommended that we go here. We got here around 7 pm and they informed us that all the tables were reserved, but the bar was open. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks first. We asked for some recommendations and ended up getting the lonestar. When it first came out, it looked a bit small, but cheese is a super heavy food. The cheese automatically come with bread, potatoes, broccoli, apples, grapes, olives, and pickles. It didn't seem like much at first, so we ended up ordering the meatballs after. It was a little hard to get our servers attention, but the meatballs came out with enough cheese left for it. We also wanted to get some more bread and potatoes, but the server didn't really come. The meatballs tasted really good, and went really well with the cheese. The food was amazing, but it was pretty difficult trying to get someone to help us after. I would definitely come back to try their other cheeses. One order was perfect to split between two of us.
Friendly staff, yummy fondue, and chocolate. Happy hour is good too half off wine and draft beers
Great food and service! Loved it all.
What a nice and quirky little place. The fondues are amazing and come with ample selections to dip with from grapes, to bread, to apples, to olives.... you name it, and it's on the plate. Choose from a variety of cheeses and don't be afraid to ask for recommendations. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to be there. Grab a glass of wine or sangria (no spirits) and dip away!
Nice servers, awesome food and a great selection of drinks... I'd recommend this any day!
They could try to have more fun with the dipping ingredients to match each cheese profile. But, you just can't go wrong with fondue! Good service and great chill ambient for having a nice chat, which can be hard to find in busy places.
Really tasty fondue with generous sides in a cozy ambiance. ~$30 per pot of fondue (serves 2) is a little steep if you want to go for variety, but certainly delicious. The chocolate bread with the dark chocolate dessert fondue is also amazing.
Excellent all around. Friendly but subtly intimate atmosphere. The food was obviously fresh and delicious. Simple but sophisticated menu. Service was excellent.
Cowboys and fondue is defo not formal! Super fun. Good and tasty fondue, friendly service. Try the traditional with a side of meatballs! Recommend getting one fondue per person, they're only little. :)
Went for the fondue and promise of old westerns. Fondue was quite good, but also very expensive and pretty small portion. They only had on one movie all night, The Three Amigos, which kind of sucks. Service was good and not too slow considering how busy it was. Make sure to make a reservation on Saturday nights, it was still packed by the time we left. All in all, I would go again maybe for the bar and hope they play more than one movie. Fun for the novelty.
Very solid fondue. Quick, friendly. A little overpriced and not the greatest wine selection, but very fun atmosphere.
The food was very good and the service was great. We had a wonderful time!
Fantastic! Enough to choose from, great choice of beer, cosy environment. Very friendly personnel. One of only two fondue places in SF.
I came here with my bf one night for dinner without a reservation. It was risky, but we decided to give it a shot anyway since we were in the neighbourhood. There was a wait as expected, but since there were only two of us the wait wasn't too long and we were able to sit at the bar. There were so many fondue choices that it was difficult to decide! In the end, we ordered the Rawhide (Italian Dolce Gorgonzola, Emmenthaler, White Wine, Bacon, Roasted Garlic). We were tempted to order a meat platter as well (since the provided sides didn't include meat), but instead opted for dessert. Best. Choice. Ever. We ordered the High Noon (White Chocolate with Balsamic Strawberry Puree) based on a recommendation from the server. Usually I wouldn't choose white chocolate, but the taste of it changed somehow based on the way it was melting in the pot. Plus, the dessert sides were superb. I definitely want to come back soon and try something new :)
Tasty stuff and great happy hour wine prices. Dipping a hot link sausage in melted cheese was amazing. 😉
Excellent fondue at reasonable prices. This place has some interesting and unique options and a really helpful staff. Good informal vibe that's great for couples, families or people flying solo.
Small menu, small restaurant. A little pricy for the amount of food but everything was delicious.
Went for Valentine’s Day fixed menu - really tasty flavors, loved the meal. A little pricy, but it was a special occasion.
Fondue places can easily overdue it, but Fondue cowboy gets it right. Good amount of cheese, very tasty, and enough dippers to keep you happy. Affordable compared to other fondue spots.
SO YUMMY. I wish that they offered larger portions but the meal was absolutely amazing and had a good variety of dippers. A really romantic setting for a date would highly recommend
My first experience here was wonderful, the food was excellent the drinks were excellent all with friendly service. Definitely, I will come back .
Great place to eat fondue!Even if it's not like in Switzerland (where we eat 1lbs for 2 of fondue 😠vs here 4-6oz for 2), the classic fondue is pretty good! Served with several accompaniment, such as bread, potatoes, broccolis, apple, grape, cornichons, olives. Still it felt enough. We will come back and taste the others 😀 and enjoy the happy hour 😉
Great experience with different types of fondue blends. Meatballs are really tasty. Drinks are good! Portions aren’t too large for the price, but we still enjoyed it and were plenty satiated.
This cozy little place has a great feel to it, although the seating seems like form over function. I don't care for sitting on an ottoman during a meal, I appreciate a chair back . That aside the experience here is a pleasant one. The wait staff if friendly and really make you feel welcome. The food is good, although the portion of fondue you get seems just a tad smaller than it should be. Perhaps the trick is to order more than one, but that seems like it would be too much for a party of two.
Great staff. Cheese, meat, bread, pickles.
Pretty good! Salads were really good actually. Cheese and chocolate fondue were really tasty. Only downside is that the portions are a bit on the small side. Healthier I guess.
An average experience. The portions are very small, and the food to dip it in were something you could quickly grab at a convenience shop (pickles, olives, apple slices?) The grapes weren't fresh, the cheese selection was limited, and the chairs have no back support at all. By the end of the meal, my back actually hurt and I was still hungry.
It's a great place for a fun date night with an interesting twist-- or is it an interesting dip? They serve a variety of fondues- including dessert. Plus, there wine and beer list is extensive. A must do if you are looking for a place to relax and take a dip.We ordered 3 fondues for 5 people. It was plenty to eat.
So much fun. Friendly staff and healthy options
Lovely cosy place with beautiful interior and lighting and a really nice bar. The fondue was delicious and our server was the nicest person. We got the traditional cheese which paired awesomely with the Bordeaux red wine. The beet salad was pretty good as well. We also got the dark chocolate for dessert and it was fantastic.
Yee-Haw, Fondue Cowboy!! That was amazing food and a rootin tootin atmosphere!! Can’t wait to see y’all again!!
Extremely tasty! Portions are just right and the staff is very friendly. Only thing that would be more awesome is if they had a few more protein options.
Great cheese fondues! This place is much more cozy and intimate than the bigger franchised fondue restaurants. It's also not as expensive. Each fondue comes with lots of different dippers and we usually get the sausage platter as well. You don't really go to a fondue place for a salad, but the Mixed Greens, Roasted Pear, and Gorgonzola was insanely good -- and it's a salad! The roasted pears added some sweetness that really complimented the Gorgonzola.
First time at a fondue restaurant. It was an amazing experience. The cheese we selected was a bit pungent. Asiago cheese fondue. But the desserts were amazing. We had milk chocolate fondue and it was just out of this world. The setting is very intimate. And perfect for a date. They have 2 bigger tables as well but I'd suggest to have a reservation instead of walk in as they only have some 6 tables and some bar stools at the bar.
This place surprised me. First glance didn't tell me this would be such an elegant dinner. Great choices and inexpensive overall. Will be back!
Casual, relaxing atmosphere and delicious fondue. The service is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. All at a reasonable price. I highly recommend visiting Fondue Cowboy.
The restaurant itself is cute and small. The neighborhood didn't feel very safe. Nevertheless, the service was excellent. We were seated within 5 minutes and our waiter was very friendly. We were just 2 people, their savory and sweet fondues are perfect for 2 people. We ordered one savory-Lonestar- Gouda with caramelized onion one dessert -While chocolate and a ginger beer My favorite was the whites chocolate, the fruits and white chocolate taste glorious. I wasn't a big fan of the bread, it was very tough.
This place is great! Food is delicious and the dipping options are plentiful. One fondue is plenty for two people. The westerns playing in the background are a lot of fun.
Great food, chill atmosphere, and amazing service.
Super yummy and great service!
Beautiful decor, great music, amazing service, and the drinks are delicious. I only came here for a cocktail, but the food smells amazing. I truly hope this place succeeds, and even more so I hope they open one in Montréal (where I reside)
1. The best fondue in the city2. Very friendly folks3. Reservation is highly recommended during weekends and weekday evenings4. Menu doesn’t change but is good enough :)5.
